Today we are creating
some Pre-Columbian Art.

But, first...

Do you know who is he?

His name is Cristobal Colón.

In English, we call him Christopher Columbus.

Did you know...?

He was an Italian explorer who lived from 1451 to 1506 (more than 500 years ago!)

He was also a navigator and a colonizer. He was born in the Republic of Geneva, in Italy.

The Catholic King and Queen of Spain sent him in four trips across the Atlantic Ocean.

Those trips and his efforts started the European colonization of
The New World(Northern and Southern America).

Before learning Spanish or English, did you know Northen and Southern Americans used to speak many other different languages?

They also had different traditions and cultures than ours. For example, there were the INCA, the AZTEC and the MAYAN.

Look at these pieces of art!

INCA

AZTEC

MAYAN

Now, let's create your own piece
of Pre-columbian art!
